It used to be that OEM descriptions for emissions systems were vague and misleading, but now they’re mostly just invisible! But that’s fine with us, because there are only so many ways to manage fuel vapors and test for leaks and flow, and we have a better way to test them. This new manual and seminar give you a repeatable process for moving from the easiest tests to the more difficult as needed for a shorter average diagnostic path.

What You’ll Learn

The manual is designed for in-shop use, with every

diagnosis starting with the validation of the core EVAP

system, only moving on to identifying and testing the

more complex components and systems when

necessary. Come to this seminar to gain the following

skills:

 Learn how to identify system types rather than manufacturers’ marketing names so you can design your

own tests based on how the PCM decides there’s an EVAP fault

 Quickly sort code and drivability complaint patterns that point to an EVAP failure

 Choose from a number of vent-sealing techniques for easy smoke & flow testing

 Implement universal leak and flow tests, including finding tough leaks that don’t ‘smoke’

 Understand the difference between engine-running and key-off Monitors, and where both are often

used on the same vehicle

 Assemble custom performance and circuit tests by combining Scan Tool solenoid controls, Scan Tool

system tests, gauges, jumper wires, meters, Lab Scopes and more…

This seminar and manual contain dozens of examples of actual leaks and flow faults that demonstrate our

process and prove the efficiency of diagnosing from the simple to the complex. It works! And it’s a whole lot

easier than clicking in circles through service information.
